Late Friday afternoon US District Judge Myron H. Thompson lifted the injunction preventing Alabama from enforcing the Human Life Protection Act that bans all abortions in the state expect when the health of the mother is in jeopardy.
Following the Supreme Court’s ruling Friday morning overturning Roe v. Wade, Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall filed an Emergency Motion to Dissolve the Preliminary Injunction which has blocked Alabama from enforcing the Human Life Protection Act since October 2019.
