Multiple People Shot At Alabama Church, Suspect In Custody • Hollywood Entertainment News


According to CBS 42, multiple people were shot at Vestavia Hills church in Alabama after an active shooter incident.

“You never want something like this to happen in your community,” said Kelley Hudlow, who works in the bishop’s office.

“It is shocking that it happened here but we are going to love each other and take care of each other and find our way forward,” Hudlow added. “We are praying for the people who have been hurt, the doctors and nurses that are helping them and we are also praying for this community that is going to be shocked and hurt by this.” This story is still developing we will keep you updated.

Vestavia Hills police said the suspect is in custody and there is no threat to the public. The surviving victim is being treated at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

“We know of no additional threat to either the community of Vestavia Hills or the neighboring community of Mountain Brook,” Cpt. Shane Ware said.

Police have not identified the victims or the suspect.  VHPD shared this statement on social media at 8 p.m.:

“Three persons at Saint Stephen’s Episcopal Church were shot. Two victims are at a local hospital being treated. Sadly, one victim has died from their injuries. Again, the suspect is in custody. There is no additional threat to the community. The VHPD would like to express our gratitude to the numerous local and federal agencies that are providing assistance to us.”
