Samsung Galaxy S23 could finally bring a higher-res selfie camera

The Samsung Galaxy S10 launched in 2019 came with a 10MP selfie shooter – an upgrade over the S9‘s 8MP front-facing camera. However, this selfie camera has remained unchanged on the S21 and S22 series smartphones (except the Ultra models). But, a new report claims that could change next year since Samsung is considering going with 12MP units.

Word comes from Dutch publication GalaxyClub, which claims that the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ could feature 12MP selfie cameras. However, it’s unclear if these will be placed inside punch holes or under the display. We also don’t know if there will be OIS for front cameras.

What’s also unclear is whether the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s selfie camera will get a megapixel bump from 40MP on the S22 Ultra or if it will remain the same.

There’s still a lot of time for the launch of the Galaxy S23 series, so expect to hear more about the lineup in the coming months.
