1. Shop During Kohl’s Cash Events
Kohl’s runs special promos throughout the year, which allows you to earn Kohl’s Cash on eligible online and in-store purchases. The timing of Kohl’s Cash events varies, but you can count on them at least once a month.
During these Kohl’s Cash events, you receive a $10 Kohl’s Cash coupon for every $50 you spend on a single transaction. The Kohl’s Cash you earn is determined by the total purchase of qualified merchandise (after other discounts and taxes apply). So, the more you spend, the more Kohl’s Cash you’ll earn and the more savings you get on a future purchase.
When Does Kohl’s Have $15 Kohl’s Cash?

As a member, you earn 5% back from your purchases, or $5 for every $100 you spend. Once your balance reaches $100, it’s automatically converted to $5 Kohl’s Cash increments (or more if you’ve spent more) on the first day of the following month. Note: The $5 Kohl’s Cash is only valid for 30 days.
How To Get Your Kohl’s Cash
Once you’ve earned it, getting your hot little hands on your Kohl’s Cash is simple. If you earned your Kohl’s Cash inside a Kohl’s store, you’ll get a Kohl’s Cash coupon at the time of purchase. But for purchases made at Kohls.com, a Kohl’s Kiosk, or through the Kohl’s App, your Kohl’s Cash arrives in an email within 24 hours. Just follow the instructions in the email to print your Kohl’s Cash. Make sure you save the email because you won’t get another one.
If you’d prefer not to print it out, you can scan your Kohl’s Cash from a mobile device, at a Kohl’s store at checkout or add it to your Wallet in the Kohl’s App. Tip: With the Kohl’s App, you can set reminders to use your Kohl’s Cash before it expires.

The earning period ends on whatever date Kohl’s specifies (usually at 11:59 p.m. CST on the last day of the promo).
How Long Is Kohl’s Cash Good For?
You can’t use your Kohl’s Cash right away, but the dates you can use it are on the cash. The redemption period usually starts as soon as the earning period ends and typically lasts for several days, up to about 10 days. - Once you’re ready to check out, enter the 15-digit coupon number printed on the back of your Kohl’s Cash.
- Next, enter the four-digit PIN printed next to the barcode.
- Last, enter the value of your Kohl’s Cash coupon. They deduct this amount from the purchase price of the items in your cart.
What Can You Use Kohl’s Cash On?
You can use Kohl’s Cash on pretty much anything in the store, except for Sephora products, which you can’t earn Kohl’s Cash on either. Besides that, there are virtually no brand exclusions. Plus, there’s no minimum purchase required for using your Kohl’s Cash.
Although Kohl’s limits discounts on some brands like Columbia, Dyson, KitchenAid, UGG and Levi’s, it doesn’t limit your use of Kohl’s Cash on these items.
Can You Use Kohl’s Cash at Sephora?
Honestly, there aren’t that many items you can’t pay for with your Kohl’s Cash, but there are some — and Sephora is one of them. You can’t earn or use Kohl’s Cash on any product sold at a Sephora at Kohl’s store (insert super sad face).
Can You Use Kohl’s Cash To Buy Gift Cards?
The short answer — no, unfortunately, you can’t use your Kohl’s Cash to buy gift cards.
You also can’t use Kohl’s Cash:

- To pay off your Kohl’s credit card.
- To get price adjustments on prior purchases.
- To redeem for a monetary value.

Finding out the current balance for your Kohl’s Cash is easy because it’s automatically added to your Kohl’s Wallet if you’ve linked your Kohl’s account to your Kohl’s Rewards account.
But if you want to check the balance without signing in, go to Kohls.com and locate your Kohl’s Cash number on the back above the barcode if you received it in-store and below the barcode if you earned it online. Does Kohl’s Cash Expire?
Just like a jug of milk, Kohl’s Cash comes with an expiration date. But it’s not hidden — it’s right on the front of your Kohl’s Cash.
Can You Use Expired Kohl’s Cash?
