Gulf Shores man killed in multi-vehicle crash Thursday


A Gulf Shores man was killed Thursday following a multi-vehicle crash on Alabama State Route 180, about six miles west of Gulf Shores.

Robert R. Felts Jr., 53, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that occurred at approximately 11 p.m. on Route 180.

Felts, who was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, crashed head-on with a 2017 Toyota Camry driven by James M. Callison, 71, of Garfield, Arkansas.

After the initial collision, Felt’s Silverado crashed into a 2020 Toyota 4Runner driven by Ruth Hallpine, 45, of Alexander, Arkansas. Subsequently, debris was thrown from both crashes and struck a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Adam A. Martinez, 30, of Lebanon, Missouri.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate. Authorities did not release additional information including the condition of the others involved in the crash.
