Earlier this month, the trio of contestants could not muster “Muscle” to pair with “these Shoals,” and another North Alabama clue did not help matters.
The latest clue referencing our state came from the “Tales from the Unclaimed Baggage Center” category during the opening Jeopardy round on Thursday’s episode, referencing a popular business that became a big attraction in an unlikely place.

Returning champ Halley Ryherd selected the category that would put us back in the quiz show spotlight.
The category: Tales from the Unclaimed Baggage Center.
The clue (for $200): The center, which partners with all U.S. airlines, sells online & at a storefront in Scottsboro in this Southern state.
The correct response: Alabama.
Hoa Quach of Naperville, Ill., buzzed in to guess Arkansas, losing $200, while opponents Ryherd and Dave Bzdak let time run out as host Mayim Bialik revealed the answer.

From AL.com: The Unclaimed Baggage Center got its start in 1970 when insurance salesman Doyle Owens used a borrowed pickup truck and a $300 loan to buy 100 orphaned suitcases from the Trailway Bus Line in Washington D.C. He brought the baggage back to Scottsboro, where they were all sold within a single day. The center is now a 50,000-square-foot facility that works with major airlines to purchase orphaned suitcases from all over the country that are left unclaimed after the industry-standard allotment of 90 days. With a goal of maximizing the bag’s potential, its contents are either sold, recycled or donated to charity.
