Poarch Band of Creek Indians acquires Huntsville defense contractor

Alabama-based Poarch Band of Creek Indians has purchased Fortis Industries Inc., a Huntsville-based defense contractor.

Fortis Industries will remain a standalone business, operating under the direction of Ecke Holding Company, part of PCI Federal Services, a division of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians, the tribe said in a release.

“PCI Federal services continues to expand our government contracting footprint and Fortis Industries beings an exciting addition to our growing federal agency support initiatives. We are thrilled to add them to our portfolio of companies,” Stephanie A. Bryan, chairwoman and CEO of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. “We are particularly excited to continue advancing our growth in the Huntsville areas as well as Alabama as a whole.”

Fortis Industries is a veteran-owned small business with more than 15 years of experience providing support for the Department of Defense and other federal agencies. Clients include the General Service Administration, Department of the Navy, Federal Aviation Administration and Department of the Army.

Fortis currently has 300 employees working in 30 states. The company’s leadership will remain in their current roles and its clients, partners and employees won’t see any change in business operations, the Tribe said.
