Here are the top stories today in Huntsville:

  1. The man wanted for the Sparkman Walmart shooting last weekend has been captured. He was found by federal authorities in Wisconsin and was taken into custody “without incident.” The victim is still in critical condition. (AL.com)
  2. Town Madison is now set to be the first Arts & Entertainment District within the City of Madison! The Madison City Council approved an ordinance that all but one councilmember voted in favor of. Typically, this would mean the sight of those familiar purple cups, but the cups for Town Madison will be Kelly Green stadium cups and will feature Town Madison’s logo on them. After all the necessary approvals, we can expect to see the change starting around January. (WHNT News 19)
  3. If you were stuck on the eastbound lane of Hwy 72 or lost power around Shields Road East or Moontown Road yesterday, it was due to a commercial vehicle hitting a power line. Traffic should be back to normal, and all power has been restored as of writing. (WAFF 48)
