Authorities are searching for a second suspect in the shooting death of a man in Montgomery earlier this month.
Diego Barrera, 20, is charged with capital murder in the March 12 slaying of 39-year-old Carlos Jones.
Central Alabama Crime Stoppers on Thursday announced a $1,000 reward for information leading to Barrera’s capture.
Alabello Barrera, 22, is also charged with capital murder. He remains held without bond in the Montgomery County Detention Center.
Montgomery police and fire medics responded at 6:40 p.m. that Saturday to a report of a shooting in the 1700 block of Upper Wetumpka Road, said police Lt. Raymond Carson.
When they arrived, they found Jones suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Charging documents against Alabello Barrera state he and an accomplice opened fire from a vehicle on Jones while Jones was walking to his car.
