Looking for fun, music and maybe some green beer to wash it down with this week for St. Patrick’s Day? Here’s a look at some fun to be had around Montgomery and Prattville:
Tuesday
St. Patrick’s Pull: Greg Thornton, Esther Hart and Michael Thornton will perform during the St. Patrick’s Day themed guitar pull Tuesday, 7 p.m. at Cloverdale Playhouse’s outside courtyard, 960 Cloverdale Road. It also features special guests Emily Lowder Wootten and John McWilliams. They will celebrate the gift of Irish words and music, with a mix of the traditional and original. Thursday
Dublin on Dexter: Lower Dexter Avenue in downtown Montgomery is the place to be to for the city’s official St. Patrick’s Day celebration from 4-10 p.m. on Thursday. This is a free, family-friendly event. Dublin on Dexter features a kid zone from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Opening ceremonies begin at 7 p.m. with Irish inspired entertainment. At 8 p.m., music begins from Montgomery Soul Collective. There will be food trucks on site. Learn more online at montgomeryal.gov.
St. Patrick’s Day Fun Run: The River Region Runners will hold a St. Patrick’s Day Fun Run on Thursday, starting at Tower Taproom, 101 Tallapoosa St. Don your Irish green attire and navigate a marked 5K route through downtown Montgomery. St. Patrick’s Day Charcuterie Board Workshop: Presented by Heart Boxes and Wine & Design of Montgomery, here’s a chance to learn to make your own charcuterie board, with all food and supplies included. $97 per ticket. St. Patrick’s Day at the zoo: Montgomery Zoo and Mann Wildlife Learning Museum, 2301 Coliseum Parkway, will be open Thursday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. montgomeryzoo.com
