Solano students make grade, earn degrees from colleges across nation


Colleges and universities across the country have announced the accomplishments of numerous students from Solano County.

Solano alumni make president’s list at Southern New Hampshire University

Southern New Hampshire University congratulated several students from Solano County on being named to the winter president’s list.

The honorees by community are:

• Fairfield: Kayla Freeman, Cesar Garcia, Isaias Perez and Kirsten Wells.
• Travis Air Force Base: Samantha Kasper and Kelly Kinney.
• Suisun City: Minh Nini Vo.
• Vacaville: Dulce Ponti, Robert Frigon, Brooke Cappsand Sayed Ayub.
• Vallejo: Lani James, Amanda Folks, Cristian Garcia and Lucia Cantor.
• Benicia: Sayed Ayub.

Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.7 and above are named to the president’s list. Full-time status is achieved by earning 12 credits; undergraduate day students must earn 12 credits in the fall or spring semester, and online students must earn 12 credits over two consecutive terms (EW1 and EW2, EW3 and EW4, or EW5 and EW6).

Core, Hendrix join UM spring honor roll lists

Two students from Solano County earned honor roll status for the spring semester at the University of Mississippi.

Savannah Core of Benicia, who is majoring in general business, was named to the dean’s honor roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.5 to 3.74.

Samantha Hendrix of Dixon, who is majoring in integrated marketing communications, was named to the chancellor’s honor roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.75 to 4.0.

In order to be eligible for honor roll designation, a student must have completed at least 12 graded hours for the semester and may not be on academic probation during the semester.

Bailey makes spring dean’s list at Belmont University

Chelsea Bailey of Vacaville qualified for the spring dean’s list at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

Approximately 45% of Belmont’s 6,792 undergraduate students qualified for the spring 2022 dean’s list.

Bailey’s accomplishment was announced in a press release from the university.

Bair joins Iowa Wesleyan spring semester dean’s list

Garrett Bair of Vacaville made the spring dean’s list at Iowa Wesleyan University in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.

Criteria to be a part of IW’s dean’s list include degree-seeking students taking 12 or more credit hours per semester with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Bair’s accomplishment was announced in a press release from the university.

Boykin achieves Austin Peay State University dean’s list status

Madison Boykin of Dixon is one of the students named to the dean’s list for academic achievement during Austin Peay State University’s spring semester in Clarksville, Tennessee.

To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or greater.

Boykin’s accomplishment was announced in a press release from the university.

Fernandez joins dean’s list at Lehigh University for spring semester

Marianne Fernandez of Dixon made the dean’s list at Lehigh University for the spring semester in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Dean’s list status is awarded to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses.

Fernandez’s accomplishment was announced in a press release from the university.

Blitch earns Dean’s List Honor at Lee University

Natalya Blitch of Fairfield earned dean’s list honors during the spring semester at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee.

Dean’s list recognition is earned by full-time, undergraduate students with a semester grade point average between 3.7 and 4.0.

Blitch’s accomplishment was announced in a press release from the university.

French of Benicia makes Bradley University’s spring dean’s list

Grace French of Benicia is one of 1,700 students named to Bradley University’s dean’s list for the spring 2022 semester in Peoria, Illinois.

French is majoring in kinesiology and health science.

To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must achieve a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the semester on a 4.0 scale.

French’s accomplishment was announced in a press release from the university.

Solano natives graduate from Eastern New Mexico University

Michelle Klein and Nicole Vu of Suisun City graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in spring 2022 in Portales, New Mexico.

The ceremony was held at the Eastern New Mexico University’s Greyhound Arena, with 427 candidates walking across the stage for graduation on May 14.

Their accomplishments were announced in a press release from the university.

Central Methodist names Ricketts to spring dean’s list

Michael Ricketts of Fairfield made the spring dean’s list at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri.

Ricketts was one of more than 900 students across all campuses and online learning who met the requirements for placement, including a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for the semester.

Ricketts’ accomplishment was announced in a press release from the university.

Solano students among Troy University spring graduates

Troy University has recognized students from Solano County who completed the requirements for graduation during the spring semester and Term 4 of the 2021-2022 academic year in Troy, Alabama.

Local students who graduated include Adriane Payn of Fairfield, Ashley Womack of Travis Air Force Base and Heather Wright of Benicia.
