Companion perks will boost the potential of the crew in Everspace 2. Some characters man the home base, while others assist directly in combat.
Everspace 2 allows companions to be customized with perks. Each companion specializes in a specific job on the ship or otherwise directly assists the hero – one of many clones of Adam Roslin. In addition, some characters have complementary or nearly identical skills that can work in tandem.
Companions join the crew at different parts of the Everspace 2 story. Unfortunately, this means that players won’t have access to the best perks until later. However, one should still get noteworthy perks for starting characters, even if they aren’t the overall best.
Perks for Each Crew Member
Each perk requires a number of different resources to be collected and given to the companion. They may request a large number of credits, common materials such as Scrap Metal in Everspace 2, or rare rewards for exploring. It is best to toggle a “tracker” option to a perk, similar to a quest tracker in other games, so players always know what exactly a character requires for investment.
Sometimes the first level of a perk is its strongest. If the resources are too costly to level up higher, spread around and unlock other perks first.

Players should further adjust their perk prioritizes towards which aspects of Everspace 2 they prefer. For instance, Elek is only about fighting enemies and serves no functionality during downtime. Alternatively, Khala and Tareen assist with exploration and ship customization but will do very little if enemies attack the Adam clone. But because many random events can occur, it is always a good idea to balance both utilities with direct assault power.
