Legends in Concert

Summer performances are underway through Sunday, Sept. 4 at OWA in Foley. Fans will see performances by Isaiah Mercado as Bruno Mars, Nellie Norris as Katy Perry, Nae Cullors as Michael Jackson and more. The show features high-energy dancers, backup vocalists, a live band, costumes, elaborate theatrical sets and a full array of special effects. Performances will be at the OWA Theater Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 4 p.m.

Huntsville Trans Pride Day

The Alabama Chapter of TransFamily Support Services offers a day of fun in Huntsville Sunday, June 26 at Brahan Spring Park from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. There have been many Pride events in the state, but this is the first dedicated Trans Pride Day. Admission to the event is free. Stay updated at Trans Pride Day. The venue is at 2920 First St. SW.

Kinky Boots 

Charlie Price has reluctantly inherited his father’s shoe factory, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Trying to live up to his father’s legacy and save the family business, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola. A fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos, Lola turns out to be the one person who can help Charlie become the man he is meant to be. As they work to turn the factory around, this unlikely pair find that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible and discover that, when you change your mind about someone, you can change your whole world. “Kinky Boots” plays through June 26 at Birmingham’s Red Mountain Theatre and features a Tony Award-winning score by pop icon Cyndi Lauper and a book by Tony winner Harvey Fierstein. The Marvelous Wonderettes

Meet and learn about the lives and loves of Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy, four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts, in the smash off-Broadway hit “The Marvelous Wonderettes” at Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery. When the Wonderettes reunite to perform at their 10-year reunion, we learn about the highs and lows the girls have experienced in the past decade and are charmed to find that no matter what life throws their way, they will conquer it together. The production features more than 30 classic ’50s and ’60s hits, including “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover” and “Lipstick on Your Collar.” Performances continue through Sunday, June 26. The World Games 2022 Closing Ceremony

Tickets are available for the Closing Ceremony of The World Games 2022 (TWG2022). The Closing Ceremony will be Sunday, July 17 at Protective Stadium in Birmingham. The all-star celebration will feature Lionel Richie joined by AlabamaJamey JohnsonBo BiceTaylor HicksBlind Boys of AlabamaPastor Mike (McClure) Jr.Ruben StuddardYung Bleu and Martha Reeves. Serving as the grand finale of TWG 2022, “One World – One People: Celebrating Legacy, Achievement and Unity” will commemorate The Games with performances and the opportunity for athletes, fans and volunteers to bid farewell to Birmingham. The Closing Ceremony will climax with the ceremonial passing of The World Games flag to representatives of the 2025 host city, Chengdu, China. Sparks After Dark 

The Sparks After Dark fireworks show will flash to life again this summer at The Wharf in Orange Beach every Monday through Aug. 1. Enjoy a live, kid-friendly cooking class with Chef Nino’s Cookin’ presented by Rouses Markets from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Spectra Laser Light Experience is at 8:30 p.m., 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Fireworks kick off at 8:45 p.m., and DJ Silky will perform from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
