Central Alabama ‘Operation Washout’ results revealed


MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A multi-agency law enforcement operation, aimed at taking violent fugitives and non-compliant sex offenders off the streets, has ended with dozens of arrests around central Alabama.

A news conference has been called for Wednesday afternoon to discuss the results. WSFA 12 News will carry details on “Operation Washout” live on WSFA.com, WSFA+, our mobile apps, and on social media starting at 2 p.m.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, “Operation Washout,” was a joint operation among federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.

“Operation Washout represents two weeks of intense efforts by professionals who are committed to making communities and their residents safer from violent crime,” said Jesse Seroyer, U.S. Marshal for the Middle District of Alabama.

Officials are expected to give additional details on the arrests and charges some of the fugitives may face during the news conference.
