Dads deserve a special treat this weekend, and Montgomery and the River Region have several events lined up Sunday to make this Father’s Day extra special.
12th annual Father’s Day Car & Bike Show: Is your dad into anything with wheels? Evangel Church of Montgomery is hosting a car and bike show just for him Sunday at 9 a.m., to noon at 3975 Vaughn Road. They’re promising classic cars, food, t-shirts and prizes. And hey, if he’s got a ride he’d like to show off here, that’s fine also. Registration is free online at evangelchurch.me/carshow.
Father’s Day Breakfast & Bike Ride: This one’s also connected to Evangel Church’s Car & Bike show. The Father’s Day Breakfast & Ride starts Sunday at 972 McQueen Smith Road. Registration opens at 9 a.m. Kickoff and voting is at 9:30 a.m. Breakfast is at 10 a.m. The bike ride starts at 10:30 a.m., and will end at the Car & Bike Show. Father’s Day Cruise on the Harriot II riverboat: If your dad loves the water, why not send him on a relaxing cruise on the Alabama River in Montgomery? Tickets to Sunday’s two hour Father’s Day cruise include dinner and a special gift for dads. Boarding starts at 6:30 p.m. and the cruise runs from 7-9 p.m. There will be live entertainment, a cash bar and concessions available. Dads get in free at Montgomery Zoo: Depending on how many kids he’s got, your dad might feel like he’s a zookeeper at heart. Father’s Day Show at Prattville Country Club: A night of pure entertainment honoring fathers is ahead Sunday from 5-10 p.m. with the first time Father’s Day Show at Prattville Country Club, 723 U.S. 82. Presente by Powered By People, it’ll have live performances by Mr. Smoke, Toia Jones, Stephanie Pickett, and Danny B. It’s hosted by DJ George and Montgomery Bad Boyz DJ Boosie. General admission is $40 a person, and dinner is included with admission. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 6 p.m. There is a cash bar. Special lunch for dads, and everyone else: Providence Presbyterian Church, 2130 Bell Road, Montgomery, is hosting its third Sunday lunch on Father’s Day. The whole family is welcome, and so are all your friends. Plates are $10, and include fried chicken, rice and gravy, summer vegetables, cornbread muffins and chocolate cake with chocolate ganache. Pops for Pops: After services on Father’s Day, Redland Hills Church is presenting Pops for Pops. They’ll be serving up popsicles on the church’s front porch. The church is at 3105 Rivle Range Road, Wetumpka. They have services at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. redlandhills.org
