Police search for a man responsible for a shooting in Geneva County

GENEVA COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — The man who police say shot two people in Geneva County on Saturday, May 21 has been arrested.

Geneva County Sheriff Tony Helms confirmed to WDHN that James Quadarius Thomas, 28, was arrested on Friday, May 27 after almost a week-long search. He is accused by police of shooting one person with an AR-15 and assaulting two others.

Thomas was arrested in Vaughn Towers in Dothan, Friday morning.

He is currently being taken to the Geneva County Jail.

GENEVA COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — A late-night shooting in Geneva County led to a person receiving injuries and another woman being taken to the hospital.

The Geneva County Sheriff’s Office is searching for James Quadarius Thomas, 28, who is responsible for the shooting on Geneva County Road 68 around 10 p.m. Saturday.

Deputies say he shot one person with an AR-15 and assaulted two more people in the process.

According to the Geneva County Sheriff, this was a domestic situation that started at a Slocomb party.

One woman was transported to the hospital, but her injuries are not life-threatening. One other person was also treated for injuries.

The GCSO is still working to locate Thomas and is asking for help from citizens. He is considered armed and dangerous, so if you see him you are advised not to approach him.

Dothan Police, the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, and Slocomb and Hartford Rescue all assisted on the scene.
