Birmingham PD: Two people shot – one fatally


BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – One man is dead and a woman suffered life-threatening injuries after they were shot while sitting in a van in Ensley, according to the Birmingham Police Department.

Police responded to the 1100 block of 40th Street Ensley just after 3 p.m. on Monday, June 6, after they say a woman called 911 saying she had been shot.

When they arrived, police say they found a male victim fatally shot in the driver’s seat of a van. he has been identified as 37-year-old Michael Lasaria Arrington.

A woman was in the passenger seat of the van and police say she suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. No word on her condition.

Police say no arrests have been made, but they do believe the victims were targeted.
