The BPD also states a person of interest has been taken into custody.————————The Birmingham Police Department is investigating a homicide after a fatal shooting near Forestdale Monday morning. At 7:39 a.m., police said West Precinct officers responded to a call of a person shot at Heflin Road and Pratt Highway and arrived to find a shooting victim behind the wheel of a car. The victim, who hasn’t been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. “The preliminary investigation suggests the victim was involved in a verbal argument with an unknown suspect prior to being shot,” Sgt. Birmingham police said this is the 67th murder investigation of 2022 including five justifiable death investigations.
