Orange Beach police on Monday night received multiple calls after a Facebook post stated an active shooter was at a condo.
Officers found no evidence of any active shooter, police said.
A woman posted that a security guard told her to go to her room because a person was seen with a rifle. The post was shared thousands of times.
Lt. Trent Johnson said police around 10:30 p.m. received multiple phone calls in reference to a Facebook posting about an active shooter at Phoenix On the Bay.
“Orange Beach Police and other local law enforcement responded and began a search of both Phoenix on the Bay I and II. Both buildings were secured with no indication of an active shooter,” Johnson said.
