Gadsden area fall things to do include festivals, trick-or-treat village

Fall’s a fine time for events in the Deep South. In and around Etowah County there are events to enjoy. Here are a few:

Break Away Art Exhibition opening

Walnut Gallery will host an opening reception 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday for artist Parker Hunt’s exhibition “Break Away,” along with an opportunity to meet the artist. The event is free and open to all. The pieces displayed are the body of work from Hunt’s Masters Thesis Exhibition at the University of Alabama. Walnut Gallery is located at 806 Walnut St., Gadsden.

Boaz’s 58th Annual Harvest Festival

Admission is free for the annual two-day celebration at 100 E. Bartlett St. in Boaz, starting at 8 a.m. Friday and ending at 6 p.m. Saturday. There will be vendors, music and the Miss Harvest Festival Pageant.
