Well, a dance team in North Carolina who achieved national fame getting a longtime tradition alive. “I’m happiest when I’m dancing,” Zebulon ‘Zeb’ Ross said. “It’s when I’m the most relaxed. I don’t have to worry about anything. It just brings pure joy in my life.”It’s a tradition that has been a part of Haywood County for years. “The entertainment came here. The dancing teams, and the competitions started in Haywood County. So I thought it was very important to preserve that freestyle Appalachian dance,” said JCreek Cloggers founder, Kim Ross.The JCreek Cloggers started 13 years ago and has become a family tradition. “I tell them ever since I was in mom’s belly. I’ve been dancing for a long long time,” Zeb said.However, everything changed earlier this year when the group when viral on TikTok. “We thought it might be like a week or two of you know high fives, good job, and it has just exploded since then. So it has just been crazy,” Zeb said.Crazy is right, the JCreek Cloggers have since formed at the Country Music awards, SEC Nation and before Tennessee’s game against Alabama. “It’s not just about us performing. We love to get the fans out there and join us for routines,” Zeb said.It may look easy but it’s harder than it looks however no matter how you dance they can tell you it’s about having fun, Ross said. “We don’t want this fun tradition to die,” Zeb said.”It’s just the happiest and the fellowship and we’ll take the ride as long as we can,” Ross said.
