SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Michael and Roni have two grown kids, who were stuck doing a lot of tasks that she and Michael (him, especially) could not, given his poor health. This started to put a strain on their marriage, as Roni and the kids had to pick up the slack, and Michael’s temper sometimes got the best of him. My 600-Lb Life viewers watched as the Dominguez family moved from Arizona to Houston, Texas. When Michael felt helpless because he could hardly stand, he took it out on his kids, by criticizing how they were doing things.

Roni and Michael’s friction on My 600-Lb Life left some fans wondering whether they would even stay married once their respective weight loss journeys were over. The pair married in 2010, and are still happily married to this day. Michael lost over 300 lbs during his journey, and Roni showed off a much slimmer version of herself as well. Roni and Michael are more mobile now, and seem happier than ever, based on their Facebook posts. Neither of them has much of a social media presence, but they have been giving some updates on their Facebook account.

The TLC alum has also become a grandmother, and several of her posts from this year have featured her gushing about her grandson. Roni was glowing in a post celebrating her 40th birthday last year. She took a break from working as a lead caregiver from 2013-2017, and returned to the workforce earlier this year, as a client care manager. After appearing on My 600-Lb Life: Where Are They Now?, many viewers believed that Roni and Michael were going to stay healthy, and keep the weight off.

Roni and Michael were able to overcome their hardships with therapy on My 600-lb Life, but they were not the only ones. Rather than enabling each other’s poor dietary and workout habits, they encouraged each other to slim down. Some fans may be reminded of season 7’s Vianey and Allen, who were also obese. The pair collectively lost nearly 600 lbs, and are celebrating their 13th anniversary.
