A 13-year-old boy was fatally shot on Saturday evening in Piedmont and a suspect is in custody.
Paul Joshua Baker, 19, is suspected of shooting a juvenile who was found by first responders following a call at about 11:11 p.m. Saturday, according to the Piedmont Police Department.
The incident happened in the 4000 block of Old Piedmont Gadsden Highway.
“During the investigation, it was learned that there was a physical altercation that took place and ultimately a gun was discharged, and the juvenile victim was fatally shot,” the department said in a press release Sunday.
Baker was charged with murder and transported to a county jail without bond. An investigation is underway.
