Turns Out Prince Harry Also Loves a Deal

We know that everyone loves a sale, and now we have the evidence that even British royalty appreciates scoring a discount.

In Prince Harry’s new book, “Spare,” the Duke of Sussex opens up about being a fan of TK Maxx, the UK version of TJ Maxx. Does this make him a Maxxinista?! We think so!

He says that he enjoys going through the store’s racks to find discounted clothes from popular casual brands that he can comfortably wear, unlike the suites and formal wear he has an allowance to purchase through the Royal Family. “For my everyday casual clothes, I’d go to TK Maxx, the discount store. I was particularly fond of their once-a-year sale, when they’d be flush with items from Gap or J.Crew, items that had just gone out of season or were slightly damaged,” he wrote in Spare.

He even shared he had an entire strategy to get to the nearest TK Maxx, which happened to be in walking distance from where Harry and Meghan Markle (his wife, the Duchess of Sussex) lived at while in Britain. He wrote in Spare that he looked out for the first day of their annual sale to “snag the same clothes that others were paying top prices for down the high street!” Can you even imagine flipping through racks of clothing with Prince Harry?!

The Response From TK Maxx

Well, it hasn’t been all positive. The major brand, TK Maxx, has denied ever having major annual sales, which is what Harry says he shopped. A spokesperson has refuted this, as they told Express.co.uk: “Whilst we’re delighted Prince Harry is a big fan, we thought we should explain we don’t actually do sales. Instead, we offer great value, style and savings all year round.”

Bottom line?

It sounds like Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, appreciates a deal and is excited to shop at a store his peers may not, but he may be mistaking their everyday discounts for an annual sale. Nevertheless, we love to see a royal appreciating a bargain!
