UNC New Cornerbacks Coach Jason Jones’ Introductory Press Conference

Jones comes to UNC with 20 years of experience coaching in the secondary including a one-year stint under current Tar Heel assistant and co-defensive coordinator Charlton Warren.

“Jason has a wealth of experience coaching the secondary, and having worked with Coach Warren previously, he already has a firm understanding of our approach on defense,” Brown said release when Jones was announced. “He has a proven track record of developing players across the secondary, many of whom have seen success in the NFL, and I’m looking forward to seeing him work with our cornerbacks moving forward.”

Jones has coached nine first-team all-conference selections including a Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist. Jones has coaching experience in the Big Ten, SEC, and Big 12 and played at Alabama from 1996 through 2000 starting his final two seasons in Tuscaloosa.
