13 Tips for Saving the Most at Anthropologie

| AnthroPerks | Sales | Freebies | Discounts | More Tips |

Have you ever wandered into an Anthropologie, only to surface, two hours later, dazed, several hundred dollars poorer and clutching a set of whitewashed iron candle sticks or dry-clean-only cashmere vest?

You aren’t alone. Anthropologie stores are designed to dazzle with their colorful vignettes of one-of-a-kind housewares and eclectic clothing. Creative décor, sophisticated window treatments, warm lighting and artisan-crafted displays are all designed to create an immersive shopping experience that transports you to far-off lands — all while coaxing you into spending money.

Now, I love Anthropologie as much as the next 30-something-year-old millennial female living in Austin, but after a few too many trips to their whimsical, custom-lit stores, I felt it in my bank account. That’s why I — along with my fellow Anthropologie-loving RetailMeNot editors — have created a guide on how to save at Anthropologie.

Here is every single Anthropologie shopping tip, savings hack and deal-hunting strategy we could find:

AnthroPerks

1. Sign Up for the AnthroPerks Rewards Program

AnthroPerks is the Anthropologie rewards program. Join for free, and you’ll unlock a host of benefits, including:

  • Access to exclusive promotions and new arrivals.
  • Free shipping on orders of $50 or more.
  • A birthday treat.
  • Special offers, receipt lookup for paperless returns and more.

Anthropologie Sales

2. Shop the Anthropologie Sale Section

In the Anthropologie sale section, you’ll find deep discounts on apparel and home décor. By “deep,” I mean up to a whopping 90%. The best part is, that you don’t have to wait around for a special holiday or limited-time event: In the Anthropologie sale collection, deals are available year-round.

3. Shop Seasonal Sales Events

Anthropologie doesn’t throw as many annual sales as, say, Express or The Gap. However, the brand throws the occasional holiday sale, such as its Memorial Day and Mother’s Day sales. In addition, Anthropologie has thrown a Summer and Winter Tag sale. The Anthropologie Summer Tag sale has traditionally happened around June and July, while the Winter Tag Sale pops up around December and January.

In June, Anthropologie delighted shoppers with its first-ever Gleaming Primrose Mirror Event which offered 30% off the super popular mirror

How do you find out when Anthropologie is running a sale? One of the most reliable ways is to check their promotions page. You can also sign up for their emails to get updates on current sale events sent directly to your inbox.

4. Check the Current Promotions Page

Want to stay on top of the latest Anthropologie promo code offers? It’s always with checking the current promotions page on the Anthropologie website, where Anthropologie helpfully lists all its current sales, deals and discount codes. For example, for a limited time, you can get 30% off select sweaters.

On the promotions page, you’ll also find useful information and terms for current offers, including a list of excluded brands and products and details on the final sale policy.

Anthropologie Freebies

5. Get Free Expert Styling + Decorating Services

Anthropologie offers free personal wardrobe and home styling services from expert stylists and decorators. Appointments are available in-person or virtually. You can sign up by scheduling an appointment online and filling out a quick form about your style preferences and goals. Depending on your needs, your appointment could be as simple as a brief email consultation or as involved as a multi-hour, floor-to-dressing-room experience complete with stylist-selected picks.

6. Subscribe to Anthropologie’s Email Newsletter

Not to be confused with AnthroPerks, the Anthropologie newsletter is another free, straightforward, minimal-commitment opportunity to save. Sign up for the Anthropologie e-newsletter to receive custom promotions, sale alerts and more sent to your inbox. To sign up, all you need to do is provide an email address.

Anthropologie Discounts

7. Recycle Your Old Jeans for a Discount on a New Pair

Image: Anthropologie

In collaboration with Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ program, when you take your pre-owned denim to an Anthropologie store, you’ll get $20 off a new full-priced pair of jeans purchase of $100 or more at Anthropologie. This offer lasts through Sept. 30, but this date was extended from August, so it might go longer 🤞🏼. Blue Jeans Go Green has “diverted more than 4.2 million denim items from landfills” so far. See which other stores recycle your old clothing.

8. Get a Wedding Registry Completion Discount

Planning on tying the knot? Consider making your wedding registry with Anthropologie. If you do, you’ll receive a single-use 15% off Anthropologie promo code to use on any remaining items in your registry after your big day has passed. You can use the promo code for up to 90 days after your wedding date.

9. Catch the Anthropologie Teacher Discount

Anthropologie doesn’t offer a teacher discount all the time, but on the occasion, it offers a teacher discount — it’s a good one. The brand has run a Teachers Appreciation promo during the back-to-school season in August and September or Teacher’s Appreciation Week in early May. For the 2022 back-to-school season, Anthropologie is offering a 20% teacher discount from August 10 until September 5. To take advantage of the Anthropologie teacher discount, bring a valid teacher I.D.

10. Use the Anthropologie Price Adjustment Policy

The Anthropologie price adjustment policy backs their merchandise with a 14-day price match guarantee. Basically, this means that if you finally decide to buy that pair of strappy flats or embroidered throw pillow you’ve been eyeing forever, and it goes on sale in the next two weeks, you aren’t powerless. Instead of simply shaking your fist and cursing the shopping gods, you can reach out to Anthropologie with an original sales receipt within 14 days to request a refund for the price difference.

11. Download RetailMeNot Deal Finder for Promo Codes + Cash Back Offers

Anthropologie promo codes can be fickle and tricky to find. That’s why we recommend downloading the RetailMeNot browser extension, which automatically finds, tests and applies the best Anthropologie coupon and promo codes and cash back offers available when you check out. Less time hunting for Anthropologie promo codes means more time hunting for that perfect pair of white cowboy boots or carved teak lotion dispenser.

12. Score a Discounted Anthropologie Gift Card

On verified gift card resale sites like Raise, CardCash or Gift Card Granny, you can often find gift cards for your favorite stores at discounted prices. With a bit of digging, you may find an Anthropologie gift card for 10% off or more.

13. More Anthropologie Insider Shopping Tips

Want to set yourself up for shopping success? Before hitting up Anthropologie, here’s some important information to know:

Follow Anthropologie on Social Media

Follow Anthropologie on Twitter, Facebook and/or Instagram to see announcements for savings events and limited-time deals. It’s a relatively simple and reliable way to stay on top of sales and promotions and new events, products and collaborations. Plus, you’ll get plenty of free style and design inspiration to boot.

Create an Anthropologie Wish List

Another way to ensure you never miss an Anthropologie sale? Create a wish list, add any items that catch your eye, and set alerts for product notifications. That way, when the price drops on one of your wishlist items, you’ll be ready to pounce.

Pay in Installments With Klarna

You may have noticed an increasing number of retailers offering pay-in-installment programs like Klarna and Afterpay. Anthropologie, I’m happy to say, is among them. Now, you have the option to pay for your Anthropologie purchases in four interest-free installments with Klarna.

All you have to do is select the Klarna option at checkout, and enter your credit card details. If approved, the first payment is drafted out of your account, and then the remaining three equal payments are taken from your account automatically every two weeks. That way, they spread the cost of your purchase over six weeks.

When Does Anthropologie Have Sales?

As we said: Anthropologie doesn’t throw as many sales as some other retailers, but it has been known to run sales to celebrate holidays like Mother’s Day, Memorial Day and Labor Day. In addition, Anthropologie typically runs a summer (June and July) and winter tag sale (December and January). In addition, Anthropologie often runs a Teacher Appreciation Sale during May and/or late August and early September, when teachers who show a valid teacher ID can take 15% to 20% off.

How Do I Get Anthropologie Free Shipping?

Join AnthroPerks, the store’s rewards program, to get free standard shipping on orders of $50 or more. In addition to Anthropologie’s free shipping, membership gets you a birthday gift and other perks. Plus, you can use the curbside pickup to get your order even faster — and skip shipping costs altogether. And sometimes, Anthropologie offers Express shipping for $5, so pay attention when those roll around.

What Is the Anthropologie Free Birthday Gift?

The Anthropologie free birthday gift varies from year to year, but in the past has included a 15% off Anthropologie coupon. Keep in mind that you must be a member of AnthroPerks to receive the birthday gift, and must register at least 30 days before your birthday.

What Is the Anthropologie Return Policy?

The Anthropologie return policy lets you return purchases for a refund within 30 days of purchase. They accept returns in stores and via mail. If you choose to return via mail, a $5.95 fee will be deducted from your refund.

Note that all items ending in $. 95 are final sales, and cannot be returned.

Is There an Anthropologie Student Discount?

Anthropologie does offer a student discount of 10% off through StudentBeans. Unfortunately for American students, the offer is currently only available to students in the U.K.

Is Anthropologie Ethical?

That’s a lofty question for us to answer, but Anthropologie pushes diversity, inclusivity and sustainability. Anthropologie says it is dedicated to being “a force for good” in service of the planet. The retailer strives to minimize its carbon footprint with initiatives like jeans recycling programs and responsible sourcing.

What Are Stores Like Anthropologie?

Anthropologie is owned by URBN, the company that also owns Free People and Urban Outfitters. Besides its Anthropologie sister stores, there are many stores like Anthropologie, but cheaper. Some of our favorite stores with pretty, boho, quality apparel include & Other Stories, Lulu’s and ModCloth
