I have to give my mom credit for this closet organization tip because she first introduced me to this method about 15 years ago when she did a little closet renovation of her own. Speaking from experience, it takes a bit of creativity when it comes to sharing a closet with someone. I’m not sure if I have my OCD or an insane amount of HGTV shows consumed to thank for this closet organization tip but either way, I’m never looking back. One thing neat and organized closets have in common is matching hangers. It sounds silly but they make a noticeable difference. While it was a process, I switched out old mismatched plastic hangers and threw away any leftover dry-cleaning wire hangers for a black flocked set. Not only are the flocked hangers more gentle on my clothes than wire ones, but they save space with their slim design while giving my closet a cohesive look (even when it’s a mess).
