North Alabama Japanese Garden at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, Alabama #japanesegarden

The North Alabama Japanese Garden at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, Alabama is beautiful and relaxing. It’s located very near the Park Office/Store and it’s definitely a must do while visiting the park. The garden was started in 1988 by Robert Black, then the Tea House was built in 1991. The first annual Japanese Spring Festival was held in 1992 and still continues (with the exception of the covid years). The entire park is a joy with miles of hiking trails with scenic views over rocky outcrops. The park is dog friendly (keep them on a leash) and bicyclists are allowed (ride only on trails or sections open to bikes). The park closes 30 minutes before sundown, so make sure you’ve enjoyed your day and ready to come down off the mountain by then!
