Another report claims early launch of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5

Last week, we heard that Samsung would launch the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 in late July, which is earlier than the expected August unveiling. While Samsung is yet to confirm or deny this rumor, one more publication has claimed Samsung will introduce the Fold5 and Flip5 earlier than usual.

Word comes from Korean publication The Elec, which claims the two foldables will be introduced 2-3 weeks earlier than their predecessors in July due to concerns about the Q2 2023 earnings. And to improve the Q3 numbers, the Korean conglomerate is considering an early unveiling of the Fold5 and Flip5 in late July instead of the second week of August.

Due to the early launch, the production for some parts of the two foldable smartphones is also 2-3 weeks ahead of schedule. These include the new droplet-style hinge. However, the production schedule of some other parts is similar to last year.

The publication also claims that the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 will use the same M12 OLED material-based displays as the Fold4 and Flip4 instead of the M13, which Google could use for the Pixel Fold – its first foldable smartphone expected to go official on May 10 at Google I/O 2023 alongside the Pixel 7a.

There’s no word from Samsung about the Galaxy Z Fold5 or Galaxy Z Flip5 yet, but recently leaked renders revealed what these smartphones will look like. You can check them below.
