On Sunday, an Alabaman, sick of repeated burglaries, hatched a Southern Fried plot to put an end to the break ins, for good! The unnamed Jefferson County man, had been robbed twice in the last two weeks. But he didn’t report the crimes to police, instead preferring to take justice into his own hands.

So, he parked his car up the street to make it look like he wasn’t home. Then he sat in wait, with a loaded handgun. His trap worked like a charm. Sure enough, the burglars showed up again, but he was ready for them! One peeked in through the front window, while another broke through a window in the back.

He caught them both and as the burglars ran for it, the homeowner sunk a couple bullets in the lawn. The thieves had a getaway driver waiting and as soon as they were aboard they skedaddled.

In this and previous break-in cases from the area, Chief Deputy Randy Christian of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office repeated that citizens shooting burglars is A-OK in his book. After all, less time spent investigating perps means more time spent investigating donuts, right deputy?
