Through the use of Pokémon HOME, trainers will soon get the chance to add an exclusive Pokémon from Pokémon GO into Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. There are already hundreds of Pokémon to collect in the latest Pokémon titles, but those looking to get their hands on one that’s brand-new to the world will have a chance to do so in the near future.
The exciting news comes from the official Pokémon Twitter account, which announced that the Roaming Form Gimmighoul will be available in Scarlet and Violet via the Pokémon HOME cloud service.
Players will first need to catch this adorable creature during their adventures in the mobile game Pokémon GO, then transfer it to Pokémon HOME, where it can subsequently be sent to a connected Scarlet or Violet game. Although the Chest Form of Gimmighoul is already available in Scarlet and Violet, its Roaming Form can seemingly only be caught in this way.
Pokémon HOME Compatibility Brings New Possibilities For Scarlet & Violet
Pokémon HOME‘s compatibility with Scarlet and Violet was only just recently confirmed, over six months after the games’ launch, but trainers should be pleased to know that it won’t be long before they can make use of the feature. Starting May 24, players will be able to transfer their Pokémon from other games – such as Roaming Form Gimmighoul – between HOME and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This massive update will make it far easier to fill out the Pokédex, and it should also keep Scarlet and Violet fresh and interesting with Pokémon from various Generations.
Not only will the linking of Pokémon HOME and Scarlet and Violet bring familiar faces to the Paldea region, but it will also come with a slew of exciting changes to the cloud transfer system. Pokémon HOME‘s 3.00 update will finally allow trainers to change the summary pages of Pokémon, allowing for ease of access, alongside other convenient features, such as the ability to convert Pokémon HOME points into League Points, or to change a Pokémon’s moves directly in HOME.
Gen 9’s upcoming compatibility with Pokémon HOME opens up a whole new world of possibilities within Paldea. While there are plenty of Pokémon that the Scarlet and Violet DLC could (and should) introduce, being able to transfer Pokémon like the Roaming Form Gimmighoul directly between games is something that trainers can look forward to starting May 24, and it should only serve to make the game more refreshing, exciting, and fun.
