The Texas Longhorns Football Team, led by Steve Sarkisian are expected to be a dominant offensive product. Based on his track record at Alabama, and the talent on the offensive side of the ball at Texas, it’s only a matter of time before we start to expect elite production on a perennial basis. However, 2022 showed us that this Texas defense can be just as impactful on the field as we think the offense should. In fact, in the two biggest games of the season, the defense had better performances against Alabama and TCU than the offense did. So, the question has been posed: Going into the 2023 season, should we trust the offense or the defense more at the 40 acres? I choose the defense and explain why.
