Scream 7 finally receives an update five months after Scream 6 was released with a new director reportedly in talks. Premiered in theaters this past March, Scream 6 continued following the new “Core Four” characters – Sam, Tara, Mindy, and Chad – as they move to New York City and are once again targeted by a new Ghostface killer. The sequel, which was directed by the Radio Silence duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, became the highest-grossing scream movie domestically, all but guaranteeing Scream 7 would happen.
Now, five months after the last sequel was released, a Scream 7 update has finally arrived. Though there is yet to be an official announcement from Paramount and Spyglass, Bloody Disgusting reports that Scream 7 is in the works with Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Freaky) in talks to take over as director.
