Toro y Moi has released a new EP, Sandhills, with a short film that documents his recent homecoming to South Carolina. Watch the Steve Daniels–directed short below. The EP is out now via Dead Oceans.
Chaz Bear made the EP with producer Katherine Perry, his high school photography teacher; Steve Daniels, too, is an old acquaintance from Bear’s South Carolina youth. Local artist Ernest Lee made the EP art, and the high-school football team in the video is just that.
Toro Y Moi’s last album, Mahal, came out in May 2022. That came with a short film starring Eric André called Goes by So Fast.
