Update on fate of The Rookie:Feds, Home Economics and The Good Lawyer

As per Deadline

ABC is deciding the fate of The Good Lawyer spinoff, The Rookie: Feds, and Home Economics amid the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. The Good Lawyer’s cast hold period has been extended for the duration of the strike, while Home Economics’ options were extended by 60 days. The Rookie: Feds’ options are not up until the end of October, and ABC could make a decision as late as December. Labor Day is a threshold for the writers’ strike to end in order for the broadcast networks to air meaningful seasons of their original live-action drama series. If the WGA or both strikes stretch into October/November, The Good Lawyer is not likely to get a series order, but if a deal is made before that, it looks promising. Home Economics, being older and half-hour in length, is said to have more leeway how late in the fall it could restart production to make a spring Season 4 return. ABC is said to like all three shows creatively.
