These Obnoxiously Giant Halloween Decorations Will Make Your House THAT House

Seasonal yard decorations are nothing new, but few giant Halloween decorations captured our hearts (or, actually, nightmares) like Home Depot’s massive 12-foot skeleton, which is so popular it’s perennially sold out way in advance of Oct. 31.

As the trend of giant Halloween decoration shows no sign of slowing down, we savvy consumers have wised up and are buying early — as in, we’re still sweeping sand from the beach out of our car — in order to compete with the most giant, obnoxious, scary, thrilling Halloween lawn decor in our neighborhood.

To get you into the Halloween spirit early, we’ve rounded up some of the best giant Halloween decorations the 2023 spooky season has to offer. Whether you manage to find the 12-foot skeleton that started it all in stock, or display something totally new, any of the following would solidify your house’s status as That House. Pair these nine ghoulish finds with your favorite last-minute DIY Halloween costumes for yourself and your family pets, and you’re ready to celebrate the season in style.

10 Giant Obnoxious Yard Decorations and Inflatables for Halloween 2023

Though lawn decor for Halloween has been popular for a while now, Home Depot’s Skelly (yes, it has a nickname) really took the trend to a whole new level and completely blew up across social media. We don’t want to freak you out, but Mashable reports Skelly is sold out online and, gasp, may not return in 2024! (Cue spooky dun-dun-dunnn music.) However, Home Depot shoppers are reporting that they’ve checked back online daily and hit their local stores multiple times before getting lucky and getting their own Skelly to love and cherish, so don’t abandon all hope just yet.

Skelly is water resistant, stands 12 feet tall, and has LED-illuminated eyes that move. It requires either four C batteries or you can plug it in. Be aware that two people are required to set this up, and Home Depot advises it will take the two of you about an hour to do so.

Why We Love It: C’mon, who doesn’t love Skelly? He’s America’s Halloween sweetheart.
