Ed Kelce has only nice things to say about Taylor Swift! The father of Travis Kelce, 34, who is currently dating the singer, called her “very sweet” and “charming,” in his first interview since the romance went public. The two shared a seat next to each other in a suite at a recent Kansas City Chiefs game and seemed to bond as they chatted to each other throughout.
“I’ll tell you something very special that I noticed about Taylor the first time I met her,” he told PEOPLE. “We’re sitting in the suite, she gets up and in the front room, she gets up to go get a drink or something and she starts picking up empty bottles, cans, plates that are scattered around. Because in the suites everybody gets stuff and you empty it down wherever you can.”
“And I’m just thinking, I don’t think she got the diva memo,” he continued. “She didn’t get the spoiled musician. She doesn’t know how to pull that off. And that really to me said a whole lot.”
The supportive parent, who’s also the father of Travis’ older brother Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles, also called the 33-year-old star “smart” as he continued gushing over her. “She’s very smart. I mean, very. That comes through right away,” he said.
In addition to hanging out with Ed, Taylor has hung out with Travis’ mom, Donna Kelce. They have also been seen sitting together and cheering on the tight end at various games. When asked about the romance between her son and the “Shake it Off” crooner a few weeks ago, the loving mother admitted she felt it was “too new” to comment on. On Sunday, Taylor attended her fourth Chiefs game since being romantically linked to Travis and she enjoyed cheering him on along with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes‘ wife Brittany Mahomes. The ladies laughed, chatted, and even did their own handshake while in a suite together.
