Where to Find the Viral Lewis Pumpkin: Restock Updates

“I’m not a jack-o’-lantern. My name is Lewis.” If you’re on TikTok, the sound has burrowed into your brain. Or perhaps you’ve heard others dramatically re-enacting the soundbite.

Every year, we see viral Halloween decorations sell out, and for the past few years, the Home Depot Giant Skeleton has reigned over spooky season. But this year, a new animatronic decoration has taken its place, and it’s hilarious: the 8-foot “Lewis” pumpkin at Target. And it has been sold out for days now.

What is the Target Lewis Pumpkin?

The Lewis pumpkin is, technically, called the 8-Foot Light and Sound Pumpkin Halloween Ghoul. It’s a talking, animatronic Halloween decoration and is (well WAS) available at Target for $180. The Internet has dubbed it the “Lewis” pumpkin because of its tagline: “I’m not a jack-o’-lantern. My name is LEWIS.” To truly understand the Lewis pumpkin decoration, it’s best to see it in action. CNN has an excellent explainer:

Perhaps the better question than “WHAT is the Lewis pumpkin” is, “WHY is the Lewis pumpkin?” Nobody knows. Nobody knows why it thinks its name is Lewis why it is so indignant that you would think it’s a jack-o’-lantern and why it corrects you in such a sassy tone. Fueled by internet randomness, an odd tagline and TikTok virality, the kooky decoration started trending like wildfire in early-October. TikTok users are filming themselves visiting the decoration in person, groveling at its feet, inventing lore surrounding Lewis’ origins and generally just obsessing.

Where to Find the Lewis Pumpkin in Stock

Lewis is elusive, and it’s been pretty much impossible to find him in stock these days. But here’s where to check and where to purchase Lewis if you don’t mind paying a pretty penny on the secondary market. If you buy on the secondary market, do your research by checking the product description and details to make sure you’re ordering the real full-sized Lewis (there’s a smaller version out there, too).

Target

The Lewis pumpkin is part of Target’s Hyde & EEK! Boutique, and so Target is where you must start your quest.

Lewis is consistently sold out online and in stores. But there are a few tips and tricks to try, based on our experience hunting down other hot usually-sold-out products:

  1. Go here to the Lewis pumpkin product page.
  2. Sign up for stock alerts.
  3. Make sure you’re signed in to your Target account and adjust your ZIP code location, and see if in-store pickup stock pops up at a store near you. Expect “near” to be relative.
  4. Keep checking back. Even viral products have been known to have limited restocks.
  5. Since you’re spending so much money, be sure to activate this offer for 1% cash back from Target.

Mercari

The online marketplace has a few sellers selling Lewis — for $100 or more over MSRP with some pretty hefty shipping fees. But if you must have Lewis in your life, you must pay the price while he’s sold out at Target.

eBay

Some lucky souls got Lewis early and are selling him off for $350+ on eBay. But if Lewis is worth it to you, we suspect that price will only go up.

Poshmark

For $360 and up, Lewis can be yours from a few sellers we’ve seen pop up on Poshmark.
