At RetailMeNot, we like to say our cash back program “pays you to shop.” But what exactly does that mean?
We’ll break it all down for you step by step, so you can get to earning that free cash.
What is RetailMeNot Cash Back?
RetailMeNot cash back is a rebate you get after you make an online purchase with any retailer that’s part of our program. More than 1,200 retailers participate, from adidas, to Sephora, to Ticketmaster.
You shop with those retailers, and then we deposit a percentage back of what you spend in your RetailMeNot wallet. Then you can transfer that balance to PayPal or Venmo, where it becomes real CASH you can use on anything.
The percentage cash back you get varies by retailer (Pro tip: We amp up those offers during our annual Cash Back Day event).
How to Earn RetailMeNot Cash Back
First, you have to sign up for a free account with RetailMeNot.
From there, we make it easy to earn cash back:
- Go to our cash back page (or tap “cash back” in our app).
- Hit the cash back offer you want.
- Hitting that cash back offer takes you straight to the retailer’s site, where you can shop like normal.

How to Redeem RetailMeNot Cash Back
You’ve hit the offer, you’ve done the shopping. Then you wait. Within days of completing your purchase, you’ll get an email from us to confirm that cash back is on the way:
Then, you’ll wait about 45 days, until we deposit your cash back reward into your RetailMeNot wallet. If you use our program a lot, you’ll have various rewards coming in, so some will be redeemable and some will be “pending” (ie, you’ve earned the cash, but it’s not redeemable yet). Here’s what it all looks like in the RetailMeNot wallet:
Got some cash back, you want to redeem? Follow these steps:
- Access your RetailMeNot wallet here if you’re using a PC (or just open the app).
- Tap that “Redeem” button.
- Choose how you’d like to receive your cash (PayPal or Venmo).
Then the just follow the verification instructions on your screen to deposit your cash in PayPal or Venmo! From there, the cash is yours to deposit into your bank account.
