Food for Thought: Alabama's First Ladies of Flight



Join us TODAY (3/21) at noon for our next Food for Thought. Author and aviation expert Billy Singleton will present the remarkable stories of Katherine Stinson and Ruth Elder, two of Alabama’s pioneering female aviators. From Stinson’s historic flying license to Elder’s bold attempt to cross the Atlantic, this program will explore daring exploits that earned these women worldwide acclaim during the Golden Age of Flight.

Singleton has been involved in the aviation industry for forty-eight years. He is the author of six books and has written extensively on the history of aviation in the state of Alabama. He earned a degree in Business Administration from Troy University and a Master of Aerospace Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
