#Shorts: Heavenly Mid-April Respite Along the Awesome Trail at Alabama’s Joe Wheeler State Park!

Eleven weeks beyond my left knee replacement surgery, I logged approximately three miles along the Awesome Trail at Alabama’s Joe Wheeler State Park. I know of no finer time in northern Alabama than an early afternoon (1:30 PM) in a mixed hardwood forest bordering Lake Wheeler on the Tennessee River…as the overhead canopy begins to shade the spring forest floor.

My 37-second video captures the mood of the lakeside woodland trail. The constant and varied birdcalls embrace the spring season and echo my own joy and enthusiasm!
