Dr. Culliver elected President of Southwest District of Alabama State Missionary Baptist Convention – The Selma Times‑Journal


Historic Tabernacle Baptist Church Pastor Dr. Otis Dion Culliver was elected President of the Southwest District of The Alabama State Missionary Baptist Convention.

Culliver said he is honored to serve as the District’s new President.

“I am humbled by the trust the brothers and sisters of the Southwest District has bestowed upon me,” Culliver said. “I am very mindful of the responsibility that has entrusted to me. I am grateful for their commitment to support the vision I presented for our district.

“Lastly, I pray for wisdom to lead our district to higher heights for the good of our fellowship and the glory of our Father. To God be the glory.”

Culliver and his wife, Mashika, recently celebrated the birth of their daughter, Otilya Teresa Freedom Culliver.

The Monroeville native made history nine years ago, becoming the youngest pastor to serve at the Historic Tabernacle Baptist Church.  Culliver is also a former Pastor at Morning Star Baptist Church in Beatrice.

Culliver earned a bachelors in Psychology and Business administration from Troy University, attended seminary at Samford University.
