What are the Perks of the IKEA Family Program?

There are a lot, so pull up a POÄNG and get ready!

  • 5% off eligible in-store purchases (ENDED Feb. 1, 2024): This in-store-only benefit was added in September 2022 and lasted until early 2024. IKEA Family members were able to present their IKEA Family card or account number when shopping in a store to get the discount.
  • Free hot drink. Next time you’re at an IKEA store, visit the in-store restaurant for a free hot beverage (coffee or tea) as a little thank you for being you.
  • Price protection. Use your IKEA Family card every time you checkout. You’ll automatically activate a special 90-day price protection benefit. That means if you buy something and it goes on sale in under 90 days, you can bring in your receipt and IKEA will give you a refund of the difference.
  • Bonus playtime for kids. This one varies by location, so check your local stores’ page online to see what’s being offered. In the past, we’ve seen offers for 30 minutes of extra playtime in Småland, the store’s supervised child play area. (Note: This benefit is temporarily unavailable, but hopefully will return soon!)
  • Member discounts. Whether you’re shopping in stores or at IKEA online, if you see a blue IKEA Family label on an item, that means your membership gets you a discounted IKEA family member price.
  • IKEA birthday present. IKEA will send you a special coupon or voucher to be used in-stores during your birthday month.
  • Restaurant savings. Offers vary by location, so navigate to your store’s page online to see what’s live. In the past, we’ve seen 15% off for IKEA Family members, BOGO 50% off meatball plates and more.
  • Free workshops. Learn new tips and skills with special IKEA tutorials and workshops held for members at your local IKEA store.
  • Kids meal freebies. Offers vary by location, so navigate to your store to see which offer is live. We’ve seen offers for kids-eat-free on week days with the purchase of an adult entree.
  • Buy back & resell service. At some participating stores, you don’t have to throw out furniture you no longer want. Instead, you can bring back an older piece of IKEA furniture that the company will then sell in their as-in section, and you’ll get a store credit for your item. Not all items can be resold. What Is the IKEA Family Birthday Coupon?

On your Family Membership Dashboard, make sure you’ve provided IKEA with information about your birthday, and opt in to receive offers via email or another preferred way to hear from the store. IKEA will send you a coupon the week before your birthday month that can be used in-store, not online. At press time, IKEA was sending a $10 off voucher good for purchases of $50 or more.

How Do I Access My IKEA Family Membership in-Store?

Via the IKEA app. On the app, log into your IKEA Family account to access your IKEA Family membership card. If you’re wondering if you need to flash your membership card even if an item isn’t discounted, the answer is yes. You should always make sure you use your IKEA membership when you check out, because you’ll be entered to win a $100 IKEA gift card, and IKEA will automatically offer you 90-day price guarantee price protection and will save your receipts online.

How Do I Access My IKEA Family Membership Online?

When you’re shopping on IKEA’s website, log in first to your Family Membership account before you check out.

Is My Entire Family Given Membership on My IKEA Account?

No. Though this is called the IKEA Family Program, and you do get IKEA family freebies for your kids like discounts on their meals or (when offered) extra playtime, any adult in your household has to sign up on their own for an IKEA Family Membership to receive their own perks.

Is the IKEA Family Membership Card a Credit Card?

No. This is a loyalty program, not a credit card. You won’t be able to use your IKEA family membership to pay for anything — you’ll still need to provide an alternate form of payment. If you’re interested in an IKEA credit card, they currently offer two: an IKEA Visa credit card and a IKEA Projekt credit card, which is one that you can pay off over time rather than in full each month.

How Can I Cancel my IKEA Family Membership?

If you decide you no longer want to be enrolled in IKEA’s family membership, you can delete your profile on the dashboard.
